When registering to participate in an event/training group
When you register for one of our events (including as a volunteer), we process certain personal data.
The purpose of processing personal data is to be able to
- create age and class divisions
- provide participants with race information and start confirmations
- calculate and plan purchases of equipment for the event (e.g. race bibs and timing chips)
- compile and publish results lists after the event
- handle payments for the event
- communicate with the customer/participant/volunteer before, during, and after the event
We process the following personal data:
- Name
- Contact details (email address, postal address, and, where applicable, phone number)
- Date of birth (year, month, day)
- Club affiliation, where applicable
- T-shirt size, where applicable
Legal basis:
Performance of a purchase contract.
To manage your account
When you register for one of our events or make a purchase in our shop, you have the option to create an account for a quick overview of orders, status, and deliveries. The purpose of processing personal data is to be able to:
- deliver products and services
- provide authorization to log in to the account
- create age and class divisions
- provide participants with relevant race information and start confirmations
- handle payments for the event
- communicate with the customer/participant before, during, and after the event
We process the following personal data:
- Name
- Contact details (email address, postal address, and, where applicable, phone number)
- Date of birth (year, month, day)
- Club affiliation, where applicable
- T-shirt size, where applicable

Legitimate interest.
Note: Please note that it is not necessary to create an account in order to register for any of Helsingborg Marathon’s events.
For marketing of events and services
The purpose of processing personal data is to be able to market relevant events and services and to send direct marketing via email, such as offers and invitations to events.
We process the following personal data:
- Name
- Contact details (email address, postal address, and, where applicable, phone number)
- Date of birth (year, month, day)
Legal basis:
Legitimate interest. We process the data in order to send you relevant marketing in your and our mutual interest.
To handle customer service inquiries
The purpose of processing personal data is to be able to
- help you as a customer/participant with inquiries and support
- communicate with you before, during, and after the event
- perform age verification and class division
- manage prizes in competitions and contact winners
- communicate regarding matters raised on social media
- identify the customer/participant
We process the following personal data:
- Name
- Contact details (email address, postal address, and, where applicable, phone number)
- Date of birth (year, month, day)
- Information provided by the customer themselves (e.g. answers in competitions)
- Results and registration history
- Club affiliation, where applicable
- T-shirt size, where applicable
- User credentials for login, where applicable
Legal basis:
Legitimate interest. We process the data in order to assist you with customer service and support matters.
To comply with legal obligations
In order to comply with Swedish legislation, we are in some cases required to process personal data, for example under the Accounting Act.
The purpose of processing personal data is to comply with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements imposed on the business, such as the Accounting Act, which may require certain personal data in connection with sales.
We process the following personal data:
- Name
- Contact details (email address, postal address, and, where applicable, phone number)
- Date of birth (year, month, day)
- Payment information, where applicable

YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to

SHARING OF PERSONAL DATA
In connection with certain services that are necessary for registration, payment, or participation in one of our events, as well as for marketing purposes, your personal data may be shared with a partner or supplier. This may, for example, include our supplier that provides the registration service, our supplier that provides the payment solution, or our supplier that provides the tool for sending newsletters.
We will always, to the greatest extent possible, process and store your personal data within the EU/EEA and work with suppliers who store your personal data in the same way. If this is not possible with one of our suppliers, we will ensure that the transfer complies with the guidelines and provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
STORAGE OF PERSONAL DATA
We neither store nor process personal data for longer than necessary in relation to the purpose of the storage. We comply with applicable legislation, which in practice means that we carry out an annual review and deletion of data that is no longer relevant. For marketing and informational purposes, we store information for 3 years.
For information where the law requires longer retention, such as under the Accounting Act, we comply with applicable legislation. All processing and storage are carried out with due consideration for the individuals concerned, with a high level of security and confidentiality.
