SWEDISH HALF MARATHON CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026
We are proud to host the Swedish Half Marathon Championships in conjunction with the HOKA Helsingborg Half Marathon 2026. To be eligible to compete in the Swedish Half Marathon Championships, you must represent a club that is a member of the Swedish Athletics Association.
Start Groups
As a participant in the Swedish Half Marathon Championships, you will start at the very front of the elite field at 09:30.
Bag Drop
You can leave your bag in the elite lounge at Dunkers Kulturhus, and we will transport it to the bag drop at Gröningen.
Personal Feeding
Personal feeding is only permitted in connection with the official fluid and energy stations.
COMPETITION INFORMATION
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the Swedish Half Marathon Championships 2026.
Organizer: Runners Society Athletes Club Helsingborg is the host of the 2026 Swedish Half Marathon Championships. The championships will be held in conjunction with the HOKA Helsingborg Half Marathon on September 5, 2026.
Date: September 5, 2026
Start time: 09:30
Start location: Kungsgatan at Sundstorget, outside Dunkers Kulturhus
Course: A single-loop course through Helsingborg. See the course map and elevation profile here. Officially measured by certified course measurer Per Månsson.
Water and aid stations: Six stations along the course offering water, sports drink from Umara, and fruit from Dole. In addition, Pepsi, Battery energy drink, chips, and pickles are served along the course.
Personal support (feeding): Personal feeding is only permitted in connection with the race’s official fluid and energy stations—within 30 meters before or after the station. Violations may result in disqualification.
Classes: Men & Women
Registration: Register for the HOKA Helsingborg Half Marathon here. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will automatically be entered into the Swedish Championships. Regular registration closes on August 27, 2026 at 23:59.
Registration with qualifying results: Send an email to hello@hbgm.se with a link to your results.
Entry fee: SEK 280 (if you meet the qualifying standards; otherwise SEK 800).
Qualifying standards for reduced entry fee SM Men:
Half Marathon: 1:12:00
10,000 m / 10 km: 31:30
Marathon: 2:32:00
Gross time = time from the start gun to crossing the finish line and is the time recorded in all official statistics. The performance must have been achieved after September 5, 2024.
Qualifying standards for reduced entry fee SM Women:
Half Marathon: 1:24:00
10,000 m / 10 km: 37:00
Marathon: 2:55:00
Gross time = time from the start gun to crossing the finish line and is the time recorded in all official statistics. The performance must have been achieved after September 5, 2024.

Start confirmation: Sent no later than one week before the race to the email address you provided at registration.
Race bibs: The race bib with start number, name, and timing chip must be worn on the chest. The SM bib must be worn on the back.
Bib pickup: Race bibs can be collected at Dunkers Kulturhus. Opening hours are Thursday, September 3, 11:30–19:00; Friday, September 4, 11:30–19:00; and Saturday, September 5, 07:30–09:00.
Timing: Timing is conducted using a chip attached to the race bib.
Bag drop: You can store your bag at the finish area at Gröningen, approximately 600 meters north of the start. You will receive a sticker with your start number in your bib envelope, which must be attached to your bag before dropping it off.
Medal: All participants will receive a medal after finishing.
Showers & cold bath: Changing facilities, showers, sauna, and cold bathing are available at Kallis, located 300 meters north of the finish. Free entry upon presentation of your race bib.
Prize ceremony: The official prize ceremony will take place at 11:15.
Competition rules: To be eligible to compete, you must represent a club that is a member of the Swedish Athletics Association.
You must compete in your club’s official kit/singlet.
Headphones are not permitted during the race.
Foreign nationals:
Foreign nationals are eligible to compete in the Swedish Championships provided that the conditions below are met and that a complete application for a competition permit has been submitted to the Swedish Athletics Association no later than August 6, 2026.
– Registered as a resident in Sweden and primarily residing in Sweden for at least one year prior to the competition date.
– Have permission from their home country’s national federation to represent a Swedish club.
– Do not participate in a national championship in their home country during 2026, including after the Swedish Half Marathon Championships.
