Hostship and passion

The idea of a marathon in Helsingborg was born in the fall of 2012 when Andreas Moresco and Simon Wikstrand for the frist time played with the idea of a new long-distance race. It didn’t take long before they realised that Helsingborg offers a big variety of surfaces and beautiful surroundings, like the littoral for example, which are unique for this kind of event. So, one Sunday afternoon the road to Sweden’s new marathon began. About two years later the first edition had its premiere and approx 3300 runners was standing on the starting line. The rest is history.

But Helsingborg Marathon is so much more than the individuals mentioned down below. We’re referring to our over 800 amazing race officers that make sure the event becomes something extraordinary and a memory for life. Hostship and passion are notions that runs through all of our activities and it’s very important that every participant feels welcomed and taken care of. Together with our dedicated spectators we turn Helsingborg Marathon into a celebration for the whole city!
